I am looking for the family of Lou or Lewis Austin of Pittsburg, Penna.  He married Margaret __________ and had a son named Leroy.  Margaret's parents lived on Mt. Washington and she had a sister named Minnie. Lou was in Letcher Co. Ky. in 1930 census.  I lose track of them after that. Lou is supposed to have died in a veteran's hospital in Kingsport, Tenn. in the late 1930's.  They say their records are somewhere else and cannot help me.  I believed Margaret went back to Pittsburg, Penna, after that.  Lou and Margaret were my adopted parents and I would love to find out what happened to them and where they are buried.  Lou or Lewis was world war 1.  In the 1930 census Margaret says she was born in Ohio.  I don't know what happened to Leroy??????  (Dec 2002)

I am looking for any information on this William who was born in Abbeville, S.C.  He had at least one son, Francis Brison Austin around 1850 also in Abbeville.  This was my great grandfather.  He enlisted in the Civil War in S.C. and later lived in Moore County, N.C. where he married Flora Anne Hunsucker in 1880 and worked as a contractor in Raleigh.  They attended Second Baptist Church in Raleigh.  They later moved to Wilson and Wilmington, N.C. and then to Savannah, Ga., where he died.  Children included Kathryn Elizabeth "Katie", Clyde, Jesse, William Palmer, Frederick Raleigh, Georgia Virginia, Eunice Anne "Daisy", Francis Brison, Jr., and one who died in infancy.  I am at a loss as to where to look next.

I have corresponded with the S.C. Archives, but have found nothing that tells me which of the many Williams is mine.  I have also found the name Janie Pierce written by his name with other family members, but have found little on her.  I wonder if she was William's mother, sister, wife, or daughter. Thanks for any help or suggestions anyone can provide.  (Oct 2002)
