Moses Will: Lists wife Sarah and children: Mary Davidson, Hiley Leonard, Aaron Austin and Charlotte Austin.  Census shows Aaron was born in New Jersey. 1778 - 1860 OH.  Found possible lead: Morristown, Morris Co. NJ in Presbyterian church baptism records: Jonah Austin father of Moses baptized 1743, Mary 1744, Jesse 1747.  MY LINE: Ruth 1922, Ralph 1901, Lemuel 1876, Lewis 1850, Jesse 1815, Aaron 1778, Moses abt 1743.  (Oct. 2001)

I have come to a dead end while attempting to find Thomas Wilson Austin's father.
Thomas was born in 1776 in Md. or Va.  He grew up in Georgetown, D.C.  The name of his birth town is Shepard or Shepardsville, we are unsure.  If you know of a family from around the D.C. area that had a son Thomas, please contact me.  (Sep 2001)

I am looking for information, names and births of the children of Stephen Austin b. about 1755 and his wife Lorany ?  They raised their children in the Gray, Danville, Minot, Auburn areas of Androscoggin and Cumberland Counties, ME.  Those towns are all close to each other.  I believe that one child is Eleanor Austin b. abt. 1780 and she married David Small of Gray, Cumberland, ME.  Any help will be very much appreciated.  (Sep 2001)

I am seeking information on Sally (Beman?) Austin of Whitehall, Washington Co., NY.  She was a half-sister of my 2nd great-grandfather.  She was likely born in Addison Co., VT in the 1830's.  Her father's given name was reported to be Jack.  Her mother had been previously married to a man with the surname of Leonard.  Sally's mother's maiden name was Foote.  Sally also had sisters with the married names of Lizzie Pecu of Addison Co., VT and Jennie Seamans of Portland, OR.  I am hoping to find information which would lead me to learning the names of Sally's mother and her first husband.  (Aug 2001)

I am searching for info on my ggrandmother Nancy Ann Austin.  She married Cornelius Porter Jan.22, 1877, at the residence of the bride, in Floyd County Kentucky.  According to her marriage certificate she was 29 yrs. old, and born in Kentucky, although this info could be wrong.  She may have been born in Virginia or North Carolina.  Also on the marriage certificate it says her father and mother were born in North Carolina.  Their daughter, my grandmother, Lavata Porter was born in Floyd County, Ky., and married Charles Osborne Sept. 21, 1901.  This is all the info I have on the family, please contact me if any of this is familiar.  (Aug 2001)

I am inquiring about a Mary Austin who may have been born or raised near Lead Hill, AR, and who would definitely have lived there in the late 1890s-early 1900s.  She married Cheatom W. Cagle (first name may have been Cheaton), and had several children in the Lead Hill area, some whom are believed to have died of a plague at that time.  One of their sons, Homer Newton Cagle, is my paternal grandfather (b. 26 Jul 1907, Lead Hill, AR -- d. 28 Feb 1974 Springfield, MO).  My hope is that any information that may lead to knowledge about Mary Austin's life may lead to more information about her husband's life. 

I have recently become aware of the fact that on the Guion Miller roll of 1909, there are 3 consecutive application numbers for Cagles living in Arkansas:

   #42274 - Cheatom W. L. Cagle
