Ralph Austin, brother to at least three other siblings, was born 16 May 1784 in Connecticut. He married Fanny Knapp on 31 Dec 1806 in Greenwich, Connecticut, and had 9 children. He died 4 Jun 1863 in Somers, Westchester Co., New York. Fanny was born 29 Apr 1788 in Stamford, Connecticut, and died 6 Jun 1861 at Halfway Brook, Sullivan Co., New York.
In 2010, Louise Smith published her book, The Mill on the Halfway Brook which details the stories of the descendants of Ralph and his siblings who settled amongst the tributaries of the mighty Delaware River along the border of New York and Pennsylvania. Louise has been working closely with AFAOA Genealogist Liz Austin Carlin, to bring this database up to date.
