DNA testing of living descendants of Bartholomew Austin, and descendants of the White County, Tennessee Austins*(bold names identify other AFAOA databases) as well as descendants of William and Milley (Dalton) Austin of Anderson County, Tennessee (John Austin, Sr. of Virginia) has shown that these families, presently considered as separate AFAOA databases, present “perfect” DNA matches (37 out of 37 markers match). Shorter DNA tests (25 markers) of other living descendants of John Austin, Sr. and John Austin, Jr. of the “Southside” region of Virginia show that there is a very close relationship to these “perfect” families, and there is much evidence that for generations these families have lived in close proximity to each other in Virginia and in North Carolina, and in later migration into Tennessee.
