Richard C. Austin

Richard C. Austin Born February 7, 1931 in Glendale, Long Island, New York, Richard spent his early childhood in the New York area. In 1941, before the outbreak of World War II, his family moved to a farm in Delaware. He attended school in Dover, Delaware and began his working career as an electrician. 

He worked for the General Foods Corporation in Dover in the Project Engineering Department and in 1969 started two companies - Diamond State Engineering and Design and Diamond State Electrical Contracting Corporation. He sold those companies in 1976 and purchased a summer/winter resort in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. 

In 1980, he returned to the electrical industry in Delaware, retired in 1992, and moved to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. In 2002 Richard and Trudy moved to Fernandina Beach, Florida, where they now live close by their youngest daughter, Mary, and her family.
