This database combines data from the Maine State Library, the Maine State
Archives, various vital records including death certificates and burial records,
and family history information gathered by Philip Austin from his 86 year old
aunt. Philip Austin, born and raised in Maine and now retired and living
in Florida, has agreed to be the compiler for this database. Please send
additions and corrections directly to him.
Robert Austin was born in New Hampshire about 1785 and died in Vassalborough,
ME on 2 Feb 1853. He first appears in Vassalborough in the 1810 U.S.
Census. He farmed the land, married, raised his family and eventually died
there. Philip Austin also has records which identify a Thomas Austin as a
possible brother of Robert.
