Unplaced Northern Austins
Compiler:

The major aim of the Austin Families Association's Austin Computer Project, initiated by Bill Minnick over ten years ago, was to provide linked Austin databases that could be searched by researchers using the World Wide Web.  As a result, the numerous contributions of Austin researchers were combined into Austin lines leading back to their immigrant Austin ancestor.  Today, there are 44 of these database lines, all of which have been placed on this site.

During the collection process, many Austin families could not be linked into any of the known lines.  As a result, this database serves as a collector for so-called "unplaced" Austins living in States located above the Mason-Dixon line.

This latest update adds the 115 member line of Fredus Austin of Sag Harbor, Suffolk Co., New York, the 68 member line of William Austin of Vermillion, Erie Co., Ohio, and the 28 member line of Cornelius Austin of Morristown, New Jersey.

Further research continues in the attempt to link some of these Austins into established Austin lines. The Austin Families Association would be very grateful for updates or corrections for any of these family groups. Please forward these to the compiler Janice Austin Untener.

Please note: For privacy reasons, this database follows the criteria for living people. (details.)

The database can be searched several ways:

Search for a string in the Unplaced Northern Austins database.
Search an index of all surnames in the Unplaced Northern Austins database.
