This database starts with immigrant ancestor Matthew Austin, born about 1620 in England and died before 1 Mar 1685 in York, York Co., ME. Much of the data on the early Austins has been based on the manuscript prepared by Edith Austin Moore, "Joseph Austin of Dover, ME & Matthew Austin of Wells, ME."

Bonnie Bigolin has researched the bulk of this database, as a result of researching her personal Austin line, that of John Austin of Brunswick, ME. She is serving as the compiler for both of these databases, so please send additions and corrections directly to her.
