John Austin of Stamford, CT Compiler:

From E. B. Huntington's History of Stamford, Connecticut, From its Settlement in 1641 Until 1820, 1868. (Reprinted Picton Press, 1992): "Oct 6, 1656, John Austin was among eleven Greenwich men who acknowledged allegiance to the New Haven Jurisdiction to constitute the Stamford, Conn. colony."

This database was assembled from various sources by Bonnie Bigolin, AFAOA Genealogist (emeritus) in 1998. Since that time, L. Scot Austin has merged his personal database with the work of Bonnie, and has worked with Liz Austin Carlin and Carol R. Austin to further refine the data.

The latest update (July 2007) incorporates the major addition of 451 individuals, the results of the research of Rodney Dean Austin. Rodney discovered his link to the John Austin of Stamford, CT line as a result of his Austin-Austen DNA Project test. Rodney's line starts at Jonathon Austin b. 1777, Fishkill, Dutchess County NY son of Jonathon Austin, b. abt 1744, and Mary Slack.

Major contributor Scot Austin has agreed to become compiler for this database. Please send him any corrections or updates.
