Originally established by E. Ray Austin and Ruth Marshall Austin, this database has been augmented by Janet Austin Curtis (who in turn, worked from the research of Marie H. Orrick), and by the Austin family research performed by Pamela Howerton Stone.
Charles E. Austin, a known descendant of William Austin of Anderson Co., TN recently took part in a DNA study which compared Charles' DNA sequence with that of a direct descendant of Isaiah Austin whose father was John Austin, Jr., son of John Austin, Sr. Although a great amount of circumstantial evidence existed which suggested that Isaiah was the brother of William, the results of the DNA study proved this relationship, allowing the merger of the two familial lines. Major contributions from Steve Austin and from Dorothy Austin Vanover have recently been incorporated.
