John Austin of North Carolina
Compiler:

According to "The Austin Family of Southeast Alabama" by John Greene Austin, 1996:  "One of the early settlers of South East Alabama was John Austin of North Carolina.  John Austin and his son, John Arter Austin came with John Walding about 1818.   In 1803, John Austin, Thomas Crittendon, Jeremiah Day, and families, were granted a passport by the Cherokee Indian Nation to:  '... descend the river and other waters...'."

This database was assembled from Gedcom files sent to the Austin Families Association of America by Bryan Eugene Austin, and from additional research by AFAOA Genealogist Liz Austin Carlin.
