The AFAOA, through the research of Janet Austin Curtis and her many correspondences with descendants of William and Ruth Austin, had a wealth of material in their files on the families of the counties of Wake, Union and Anson, in North Carolina. But we must acknowledge the contribution of AFAOA member Richard Charles Austin of Fernandina Beach, Florida for his computerized database which served as the starting point for this database. Richard continues to serve as the compiler, so please send updates and corrections, etc. to him.
