Robert Austin was born in New Hampshire about 1785 and died in Vassalborough, Maine on 2 Feb 1853. He first appears in Vassalborough in the 1810 U.S. Census. He farmed the land, married, raised his family and eventually died there. AFAOA member Philip Austin has records which identify a Thomas Austin as a possible brother of Robert.

Philip Austin, born and raised in Maine and now retired and living in Florida, has agreed to be the compiler for this database.
