Abraham Austin, born about 1771, probably in the Verplanck, Westchester County area of New York. He died 8 Apr 1853 in Finchville, Orange County, New York. He appears to have spent his entire adult life in Orange County, New York. His residence, given in the 1810 and 1820 censuses, was Deerfield, and Calhoun was listed in the 1830 census. Calhoun later became New Hope which ultimately became Finchville. Abraham was a blacksmith.
He married Mehitable Campbell on 3 Dec 1793 at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Walden, Orange Co., NY and had 9 children.
